Hi! My name is Hannah I’m 15 years old and I’ve been I AHG since I was 10-ish. My mom is the Troop Coordinator of our Troop, TN0215. I’m the oldest of 5 sisters and 2 brothers. I know how all you oldest siblings feel. A lot of times it seems like your younger siblings get to do so much more than you did at their age! Watch movies, stay up later, tag along with you (everywhere!), fill-in-the-bank. And what ever gets most on your nerves is their most common habit!
Don’t feel bad or guilty, everyone feels like that sometimes. Frustration is common, but that does not give us an excuse to wave off our sinful feelings, saying that because it is normal, that it’s fine. As older sisters we have the responsibility to teach our younger siblings what a godly woman looks like. Even though we may not like it, or even see it, any younger sibling you may have, WILL watch your behavior to gauge what they should or shouldn’t do. It is a great, but terrible responsibility.
Thankfully, we don’t have to worry!! As Jesus said in John 15:16, “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever.” Can you believe it!!!! Jesus said he would give you part of himself to be with us forever! Ya’ll, forever means till you die (after that you won’t need his help anymore!). You don’t have to stress that God’s gonna say, “Oh So-and-so lost her temper again when her sister dumped her math book in the sink (which, by the way, has happened to me), we’re leaving her now, she’s messed up to much.”
So take heart! The world of quarrels, complaining, and screaming is just one part of God’s plan for you, and he’s not going to let you trudge through it on your own.
