Hi, American Heritage Girls! I’m a Pioneer and in seventh grade, and as you can tell, I am an avid writer who dreams of getting published soon. My name isn’t actually Annavre Lane, that is my pseudonym, or pen name. When I write on my personal blog, or somewhere public where the world can view my writing, I use my pseudonym. As a writer, I love to think and dream. I talk to myself a lot about my books and other people’s books. I write a genre called fantasy, which is where there is some magic or paranormal events wrapped into a fictional story. I also love writing short stories and free-verse poetry. I am almost finished with my third novel, a fantasy-romance novel for young adults called Hall of Mirrors. It is an exciting parallel to the story of Snow White. It has taken me almost a year to write this novel, and I’m hoping to publish it on Amazon this summer. Yay! 🙂 I am also writing a fourth novel, the first in a series I call the Dreamcatcher Chronicles. It is called Lucid and it is a novel about lucid dreaming. I got the idea when I taught myself to control my dreams, and I’ve always loved dreamcatchers. Hall of Mirrors was inspired because of a pretty photo on Pinterest and my love of fairy tales and love stories. As a writer, I love to read other people’s works as well. I get inspirations from a lot of things- rain, dreams, songs, and especially coffee. (I love coffee.) Writing is my escape and my happy place, because when I’m in a different world, I can forget about everything else and I know that good always triumphs over evil. And that’s a happy feeling. One of the things I’ve always wanted to do as a writer is go on a book tour (and I’m hoping to, once I publish my new book). Right now it needs some editing and revising, though. One thing I hate about writing is my writer’s blocks, and how many stories I have in my head at once. It’s very hard to finish a novel, because for a high-energy person like me, once you have a new idea in your head, it’s very hard not to start on it right away. It’s hard for me to stick to a plan or one idea, so I focus all my energy on one thing and until I’m done, I can’t start on anything else. My advice for aspiring authors? Never give up on your inspirations. If it’s too big to put into words, then it’s a good one. Take time for other things than writing. And make sure that good always wins. That’s what keeps a reader hooked! You can find me and some short stories and poems on my personal blog, fantasymindblog.wordpress.com. Here I’ve also included my cover of Hall of Mirrors for you as a sneak peek!
– God bless you and your pen,
PS. Selah M. Stewart on the cover is my old pen name.
